Maple Leafs
Any seasoned scalper (ticket tout) would have picked us for the complete
scalping virgins that we were. We bought two standing room tickets, from the
cleanest looking scalper. Tickets for what?
Tickets to see the Toronto Maple Leafs play the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in a
National Hockey League regular-season match. I was told that Toronto's season
so far had been on the better side of average.
The match was pretty cool, Toronto came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2, and the
crowd got a bit excited in the third period. But without doubt the highlight for
me was the little league! A bunch of little kids out on the ice, in full kit,
hammering each other in true ice hockey style. Good for hockey. Unlike the
little league in Aussie Rules footy, the fat kid isn't put at full-forward. They
put him in goal.
